AU HISTORY

Leander Summers was born 27 years ago in Arintero, and really hasn't left very often. He's been a troublemaker his whole life, and a terrrible burden on his single mother, from getting into things he shouldn't as a baby, to wandering off as a toddler, to picking fights with bullies as a kid. He's no hero, though, just an asshole looking for an excuse, or so he claims.

At 16, he picked the wrong battle, and stood up to a gang member, beating him up in defense of another teenager. The gang got their revenge, beating Lea up in turn and leaving him tied up and locked in an empty warehouse. Understandably, he panicked. This triggered his awakening as a Meta, and he ended up burning the warehouse down. He was found inside, unconscious and miraculously only lightly singed, perhaps due to how quickly he was found, perhaps due to his powers averting the flames.

Shortly after that, he was kicked out of his home. He never finished high school. He spent the better part of ten years in shelters and couch surfing under the name Lea. Only recently has he started using his legal name again at all, finishing his high school equivalency exams and getting a job as a barista, so he, quote, "wouldn't feel like a useless sack of shit." He even managed to get an apartment!

... Of course, practically the minute he got a permanent address, GUARDIAN came a-knocking. Feeling pressured, he's tentatively signed on, but is resisting permanent assignment.

POWERS

AU POWERS: Lea is a natural-born pyrokinetic. He's not sure whether it's magic or psychic powers, but the point is moot. He can start and manipulate fire with his mind. However, due to traumatic experiences, fire makes him nervous. He's only able to start fires up to the size of a small campfire, but he can change its temperature and shape to an incredible extent. He does not like to make them large or too hot. He is resistant to being burned with his own fire, as he reflexively makes it cooler when it touches him.

He can also manipulate natural fires. This allows him to reshape them, though he cannot make them burn at different temperatures, as that is fuel-dependent. He cannot put out natural fires, either, but he can make them smaller, though that takes time and exertion.

CHANGES

Leander has several tattoos that Lea doesn't in canon. Nothing big, but he's got a small mandala on his chest (right pec) and a black rhombus on his ankle. He plans on getting more. He's got a fear of fire that he lacks in canon. He's also got no keyblade, and wears normal clothing. He's just as skinny, though.
